September 16th - October 5th, 2011

Thanks to everyone who shared their vacation with us these last two weeks. We appreciate your business and hope to see you again next year. The Outer Banks is beautiful this time of year with good weather and some good fishing. Come and enjoy the last few days of warm weather and let's go fishing.

September 4th - September 15th, 2011

The weather has been terrific, with sunny skies, nice temperatures and calm seas. We are still catching blues, spanish mackrel, in the ocean and good catches of bottom fish, sea mullet and varied species in the sounds. Had a good catch of tile and black sea bass the end of this week. A northeaster has set in for a few days, hope to get back to some more good fishing next week. Thanks again to each and everyone who visited with us, and shared their vacation. We appreciate your business and hope to see you again.

August 25th - September 3rd, 2011

A BIG "THANK YOU" to all of you who had us booked during this period, which were quite a number of trips. We are very sorry Irene messed up your vacation. During this time we worked hard to prepare for Hurricane Irene. Irene brought high winds and tough seas on Saturday August 27 - Sunday August 28, 2011. We were very Blessed in the fact, we had very little damage. But others didn't have it so good. Our prayers continue to go out to those families. We hope to be able to carry our party on Sunday, September 4. Again, thank you to all those who booked with us for the past week and a half, and for your understanding in this situation. I sincerely hope you will plan to visit the Outer Banks and Overdrawn as soon as you can. Skies are sunny and weather is terrific, come on down to the Beautiful Outer Banks of NC.

August 16th - August 24th, 2011

Summer is winding down and we are still having fun on the Overdrawn. School will soon be starting, pack the kids and come on down for a few more hot days to enjoy on the water. Thanks to everyone who shared their vacation with us and of course, we always are excited to see repeat customers. This has been an awesome summer, with terrific people and some good fishing. Thanks again to everyone and hope to see each of you again.

August 1st - August 15th, 2011

We are sorry to be two weeks behind on a report and pictures. Due to our good friends at Charter Communications, we have been without phone and internet service for this period. At this point, we have changed companies completely, and hope this will not happen again. Thank you all for your patience with us. As of the past two weeks, we have had lots of fun and good times. Thanks to each of you, we have enjoyed every one that has shared their vacation with us. Hope to see you again when you return to the Outer Banks. Come on down, we have a few weeks left to enjoy hot weather, good fishing and lots of fun.

Fishing was good first part of the week. Then the north wind blew hard, causing rough seas with no fishing in the ocean for us and hard to find fish in the sounds. The past week and a half has been pretty good fishing. Of course, some days it was not to catchy. Mostly blue fish and spanish mackrel near-shore ocean. Not much happening in the sounds right now. Lots of fun with spanish mackrel and blue fish most of the week. Catches dropped off according to water temperatures and wind direction in the later part of this week with decent catches of bottom fishing. Thanks to all who shared their vacation with us. Some good times and good fishing has begun. Sea Mullets and Blue Fish have been the catch of the week. Some old Amish friends from Ohio joined us this week, for a dock full of Bluefish. The weather and ocean waters have been very cold, but the rock fishing has been very hot. Weather permitting we can try again.

October 1st - October 9th, 2010

Sound striper season has been very slow for us since the season begun. Still catching lots of variety bottom fish in the sounds with some keeper grey trout. Finished out the week with old friends from Kentucky, with excellent deep drop trip, tile fish and black sea bass.

September 17th - September 30th, 2010

Fishing has been slow in the sounds and near-shore ocean. Lots of ugly water, caused by hurricane Igor moved in and slowed us down quite a bit. Were finally able to find some keeper size grey trout and some nice sea mullet.

September 2nd - September 16th, 2010

Fall is definitely here. Weather is terrific!! Good bottom fishing days and somewhat slow trolling for blue, spanish mackrel and false albacore. All in all, good times with good people. Thanks to all for your business and sharing your vacation time with us. Hope to see each of you again.

August 24th - September 1st, 2010

Fishing and weather were both HOT, with good catches of blues, spanish mackrel and sea mullet. We got to take a break from Hurricane Earl, so we didn't book any further trips. We enjoyed everyone and hope to see you again next year.

Bottom fishing has been good when wind conditions are right, sea mullet, crocker, spot and various other bottom species. Trolling for blues has been excellent. Spanish mackrel still hard to come by. Sound fishing was good with lots of crocker, sea mullet and spot, lots of variety with other different species. Trolling was good with blue fishing and some days bonus albacore. Thanks to all for your business and hope to see you again.

Bottom fishing was steady all week, including good catches of blues and sea mullet. One beautiful day mid-week, we ventured out and went deep-dropping. Caught limits of tile fish, few black sea bass and several dolphin (the fish). Thanks to everyone for sharing your vacations with us. We had a terrific week with great weather and wonderful people. This week we enjoyed sound fishing. We had children aboard and adults that wanted to bottom fish. We were able to catch numerous varieties. The weather was quite warm, light breeze and lots of fun enjoyed by all. The summer fun just keeps on and on. Thanks to everyone for the trips and hope to see you again.

Summer has begun, the weather has been great and fishing has been good and fun for all ages. We have enjoyed catching croackers and spot, and varied other bottom fish in the sounds. Started the month out right, with a howling north-east wind. We ended up with lots of keepers, 80 sea mullet mostly, few blues and spots.

Hurricane Bill never stopped us from some good fishing this week. The ocean got a little rough but we enjoyed some good times in the sounds. Spanish mackerel, blues, sheepshead and more bottom fish were caught.

We closed our week with good catches of spanish mackerel in the sounds. Were able to find bottom fish and some flounder, but were to small to keep.

Had a good fishing trip this morning with Clinton, Darlene, Jordan and Cole from Virginia. Ended up with 8 nice speckled trout, 1 flounder, spanish mackerel and blues. Enjoyed the morning with you good folks, hope to see you again soon.

Week of July 28th, 2009

We fished all week long in a hard gusty south west wind. The nearshore fishing was slow, the south west wind brought in cold water. Small blues, croakers, and other sea creatures were caught in the sounds. We ended the week with nice speckled trout and spanish mackerel.

The Overdrawn had good catches of sheepshead during the week of July 20-25. They varied in size, but we had several nice ones as you can view on our web-site. When they bite, they bite hard. Some need to be netted quick when they get to the boat, before they get off the hook. Also, last week the sounds and near-shore has been excellent with spanish mackrel and bluefish. Good grilling size for all. Bottom fishing has varied with sea mullet, spot and also a few flounder. Lots of fun for the whole family. As you can see on the site, children love fishing too. The age does not matter, if they don't want to fish, there is always time for a little nap. We enjoy and appreciate all who fish with us. We are happy to share the fun experience of fishing with all, young or old.
