Week of July 28th, 2009

Speckled TroutWe fished all week long in a hard gusty south west wind. The nearshore fishing was slow, the south west wind brought in cold water. Small blues, croakers, and other sea creatures were caught in the sounds. We ended the week with nice speckled trout and spanish mackerel.

Thanks to everyone who fished with us this week!!!!

SheepsheadThe Overdrawn had good catches of sheepshead during the week of July 20-25. They varied in size, but we had several nice ones as you can view on our web-site. When they bite, they bite hard. Some need to be netted quick when they get to the boat, before they get off the hook. Also, last week the sounds and near-shore has been excellent with spanish mackrel and bluefish. Good grilling size for all. Bottom fishing has varied with sea mullet, spot and also a few flounder. Lots of fun for the whole family. As you can see on the site, children love fishing too. The age does not matter, if they don't want to fish, there is always time for a little nap. We enjoy and appreciate all who fish with us. We are happy to share the fun experience of fishing with all, young or old.
